My daughter is having an amazing time at Camp Shalom (she likes it because “it is fun and it is a happy place” - her words) and we know you all put in so much effort to make it that way for her.

My child is absolutely loving being a Counselor in Training - he comes home exhausted, but full of fun stories. Thank you again for helping to make such wonderful summer memories for these kids.

I chose Camp Shalom for my granddaughter because of your focus on values and close community…I appreciate and admire the Jewish culture and values, so many of which overlap with ours. I feel so fortunate that we found you!

Friendship

Friendships made at camp are like no other. Our campers become a part of

a family, forging some of the closest friendships of their lives, where memories are made and cherished

for a lifetime. It just might be the

best part of summer camp!

Character

At Camp Shalom we…

• Inspire the potential in every child

• Foster a love of adventure

• Demonstrate universal values

• Support our staff

• Facilitate personal growth

• Provide lifelong memories, built on tradition

Our qualified staff are trained to encourage children to reach their individual potential. Their talent, love, leadership, and devotion are the heart and soul of camp.

Our staff is a combination of full-time JCC leadership professionals, teachers, college and graduate students, and high school seniors and juniors. They bring with them the skills needed to guide campers and instill in them confidence and character development needed to one day become counselors themselves, utilizing these life lessons in the future.

Confidence

Our counselors and specialists help to develop a sense of confidence, no matter how big or small campers’ achievements are. We provide the opportunities to practice and master skills, and are always there to boost spirits, using encouraging words and actions for their efforts.

Your child will be in a group with excellent camper/staff ratios. No matter the age, we emphasize the group experience for children to:

  • Become more confident and increase their self-esteem

  • Develop increased social skills

  • Foster independence while strengthening their leadership qualities

  • Be adventurous and try new things
